The Division of Student Affairs, in partnership with the Birthplace of Country Music, is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for students at East Tennessee State University to experience the annual Rhythm & Roots Reunion held in Bristol, Tennessee.
The annual festival held approximately 30 miles from campus celebrates the region’s heritage as the birthplace of country music.
Tens of thousands of people from across the United States flock to the site each year to hear live performances from more than 50 country, bluegrass, and gospel artists.
With four main stages and as many as 12 small stages in downtown restaurants and bars, the festival offers unique experiences for all audiences.
ETSU students interested in attending on Saturday may purchase tickets at a discounted rate in the Student Organization Resource Center on the first floor of the D.P. Culp University Center.
The day passes, which regularly sell for $35, are only $20 when purchased at the SORC with valid ETSU I.D.
In addition, the Division is offering shuttle service to and from ETSU for students who don’t have transportation to get to the festival. Shuttles will run at noon, 4 p.m., 8 p.m., and return to campus at midnight on Saturday.
Students can sign up for the shuttle when purchasing their tickets in the SORC.
The 2013 lineup features Lucinda Williams, The David Mayfield Parade and Spirit Family Reunion, as well as the ETSU Old Time Pride Band and the ETSU Bluegrass Band.
The full schedule of performances and information about vendors and other activities can be found at www.bristolrhythm.com.
