Like many sections of ETSU’s campus, the Sherrod Library has made some policy changes to benefit of students.
The hours of operation have changed to Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.
What was previously the Reference Desk on the first floor has been reshaped to take up less space and renamed the Information Desk. It is still on the first floor, to the right when entering the library.
The Media Center on the third floor of the library has been closed. All materials once located in the Media Center can now be accessed through the Circulation Desk on the first floor, located to the left immediately upon entering the library.
Viewing equipment, such as projectors, can be found on the third floor with the audio books.
For those students who are in the process of doing research, PDF scans of books can now be uploaded from the library database to class pages on D2L (desire to learn).
This service is accessed through the eReserve service and requires adding the eReserve D2L to class lists under “Teaching Assistant.”
The Sherrod Library is part of what is known as an “interlibrary loan” program. If you need a book that the library does not have, but the Johnson City Public Library does have, a temporary transfer can be made to allow access to the needed material.
Two email accounts were created specifically for questions about interlibrary loans and eReserve so that students can have their questions answered quickly without having to make a trip to the library.
Any questions about interlibrary loans may be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org and any questions about eReserve can be directed to email@example.com.
