The downfalls of codependency

I've had friends tell me they want and need to die after a breakup. I'm reminded of Cinderella's breakdown in the Disney film when she says, "It's just no use. No use at all. I can't believe. Not anymore. There's nothing left to believe in. Nothing." Then her fairy godmother appears and sends her to the ball after a nice makeover.

In so many of my classes, I am the only individual in the classroom who is at once African-American and female, and in many cases, the only individual who is African-American, period. This is my reality. These are my odds. They are very real to me. At one time, I thought the odds were astonishing - to be one out of 25, 27 or 35.

Man, Sarah Palin sure has changed in the last few years. She now claims to be a teabagger who is being paid $100,000 to tell others not to pay taxes, and it is their duty to stop paying taxes. Yet, as mayor, Sarah Palin was known as the earmark queen of Alaska.

Clean coal not an option right now

While I have no problem with cleaning up the environment and recycling, the idea of going "coal-free" is nuts. Does everybody realize how many jobs there are in the coal industries? There are office jobs, mining jobs, sales jobs, engineering jobs, geology jobs and numerous others.
