Invisible Children visits ETSU, raises awareness for Uganda

Invisible Children, an organization that works to promote education and a better life for children affected by the war in Uganda, visited ETSU on Thursday. These "roadies" showed a film, "Go," that depicted the brutality of the situation and the problems still facing Uganda's residents.

ETSU astronomer speaks on exhibit

The General Shale Brick Gray Fossil Site Museum began its "Out of This World" public talk series on Saturday Nov. 1. This coincided with the opening of the new temporary exhibit showing landscapes throughout the solar system. The exhibit is from the Smithsonian Institute and features artist Michael Benson's enhanced images captured on various planets and moons.

Fertility conference to address causes, treatment options

The basic causes of infertility and the various treatment options available will be addressed during a free evening seminar hosted by ETSU Fertility Services, an affiliation of ETSU Physicians and Associates-OB/GYN and East Tennessee State University's James H.

Middle East expert to deliver four lectures

Wayne G. Basler Chair of Excellence Leonard will speak Nov. 11

Dr. Graham Leonard, who has specialized in the Middle East since 1950, will present "Origins of Problems in the Middle East: An Overview," the first of four lectures he will deliver as holder of the ETSU 2008-09 Wayne G. Basler Chair of Excellence for the Integration of the Arts, Rhetoric and Science.

ETSU's Who's Who deadline this week

The deadline for applications for membership in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges is Wednesday, Nov 12, no later than 4:30 p.m. Applications are available in the East Tennessean office, Exterior Suite A, D. P. Culp University Center.
