Dear Editor, I've been a student at ETSU for the past two years, and I have parked my car in the same parking lot. I do not pull through or back in; I do not park in instructor parking nor do I park illegally in any red zone. When I returned to my car I had a ticket on my windshield.
Dear Editor, When I read the "Atheist confronts religion" article I was extremely saddened for the person who wrote it. First of all, I am sorry that you have a bad taste in your mouth toward Christianity, but I question the fact that you were ever a Christian to begin with.
Dear Editor, What Michael Thomas appears not to realize is that conservatives face not a deified figure in Barack Obama, but an energized and electrified base of Democratic supporters. It is not Democrats that have labeled Obama as a "deity" or "messiah" figure.
Dear Editor, One of my favorite stories when I was a kid was "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." It comes to mind because every time I receive an e-mail from ETSU with AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT in the subject line, I open the e-mail only to find that the announcement is a faculty recital or an author is coming to campus.
Dear Editor, I have been enjoying the religion-based articles this semester and I can appreciate the desire to give supporters of other religions a voice. But what makes Whitney Harris' articles so great is that they are positive and uplifting. Negativity always seems to dominate the news, especially lately with the condition of our economy.
Dear Editor, "How do you win against a messiah figure?" You don't. Especially when you created the need for a "savior" by giving the current administration the White House for eight years and alienate half the country on a daily basis by talking about "small-town values" and the "real" America.
