May: the month that many change their title of "Miss" to "Mrs." and the month that soon-to-be-doctors finally garner the title of "MD." For me, the first week of May ended my first full week back in the United States after having spent the semester studying abroad in Honduras.
This semester has afforded me with great opportunities as one of the first ETSU participants in an internship program through The Washington Center in Washington D.C. This is not only the first year that ETSU has participated in their program but also the first year that the state of Tennessee has been numbered among the many other states and nations around the globe that annually send students to Washington D.
It's hot. My skin is sticky and I think I'm going to take one of those mid-day cold showers to cool off. It's always hot like this after a day of rain in Ghana. I've now been here for three months. I've had good days and bad days, but overall I am very happy that I chose to study abroad in such an interesting and culturally rich land.
"Making ears bleed since 2004." Many musicians would not take pride in such a claim, but it is one of the slogans of Johnson City-based, region-spanning Chaotic Underworld Recordings. ETSU student and Elizabethton native John McMeen, 24, has been making music on Chaotic Underworld since the label's inception.
