War similarities

Dear Editor, It amazes me how much the war in Iraq is similar to the Civil War, but yet so different at the same time. When the Civil War began, the majority of the Union and Confederacy were in favor of fighting for what they believed in. Towards the end of the war, everyone involved grew weary and tired of the fighting and casualties that had accumulated.

Freedom and Art

Dear Editor, Most people think history class is boring but I've discovered the lectures about how the idea of freedom and liberty have changed in relation to how art has changed. For example, in 1434 a painting by Jan van Eyck was interpreted in different ways.
