Among the array of classes offered during ESU's second summer session (July 7-Aug. 8) will be two courses concerning the Appalachian region. "Coal Mining in Appalachia" will focus on the history of coal mining, including its economic, environmental, and social impact on local communities, the Appalachian region, the nation, and the world.
