According to the Football Proforma, a document ETSU submitted to the Tennessee Board of Regents seeking their approval in starting a football program, the $125 per semester fee incurred by incorporating a football program into ETSU athletics is meant to pool about $2.5 million next year.
According to the Football Proforma, starting next year, football coach-related expenses will reach about $473,000, of which about $340,000 will be allocated for the head football coach’s salary and benefits. The remainder will be split between two football coordinators, each with a salary of about $100,000. Upon hiring seven assistant coaches in the 2014-2015 academic year, the amount allocated for football coach-related expenses will climb to about $1 million.
ETSU is not set to start giving football scholarships until the 2014-2015 academic year, at which point the university will award about $480,000 to in-state and out-of-state football players.
